"Stayed in Alicante many times in the past and always been too snobby to pay Benidorm a visit however after enjoying the TV programme a great deal !
We visited and the beach is very nice , lots of restaurants etc .( prices are quite high compared to nearby towns)
On balance a nice place to visit but I have had low expectations- give it a go you might be pleasantly surprised..!"

"Nice beach, some days were really busy especially when it was 30 degrees! Loads of cafeterias and bars serving spanish and british foods tatoo parlours, souvenir shops, restaurants and massage places."
Tee Bee
"Plenty of places to park your bum - there's loads of loungers to rent with parasols (6 euros per thing rented). We visited in July and the temp got to 35 degrees. It's not the cleanest of beaches either - people bury their rubbish (fag ends, bottles, fag packets etc). Not an issue really if you're on a lounger."
