What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Illa Roja Beach is praised for its stunning natural beauty, unique red rock formation, and clear waters, making it a picturesque spot for swimming and hiking. While officially a nudist beach, visitors find the atmosphere tolerant and welcoming, with many opting to wear swimwear. The lack of services means visitors must be self-sufficient, and the beach can be shaded in the late afternoon.
"If you are looking for wild beach with nice cliffs, this is the place. Beautiful and sunny beach. But for me it was a little bit uncomfortable that there are naked 80% of people. Officially this is not nudist beach but still there are majority of them. But the view to the cliffs and sea is beautiful."

"The beautiful beach is protected from the sun by a high rock on the western side. So, the beach not suitable for sunbathing in the evening. Although it is officially a nudist beach and "PLATJA NUDISTA" written in big letters on the rock, the nudists are in minority. The visitors are tolerant, friendly, I didn't see any voyeurs. Camino de Ronda passes through the edge of the beach. Be ready to be photographed from all sides."

"While hiking along the beautiful coastline on a warm day in October 2023, I came upon this stunning beach and took a break to relax, sun, and swim in the crisp clean tortoise water. Fortuitously, as I hadn’t brought a swimsuit, the beach was designated naturist, so I could just swim au natural without any other beach goers thinking anything of it. About 2/3 of the people there were sunning and swimming bare. The color of the surrounding cliffs was striking in the late afternoon light, and the micro-pebble sand was soft to walk on and could be easily wiped off. Ideal. Because of the position of the beach below high bluffs, it’s largely covered in shadows by late afternoon, so go earlier if you want direct sun. The waves were mild the day I was there, and being October the beach wasn’t crowded. Turned out to be a great setting for an unplanned afternoon at the beach."
