What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Parc del Guinardó for its stunning panoramic views of Barcelona and its peaceful, natural atmosphere, offering a welcome escape from the city's hustle. It's appreciated as a free, local gem perfect for picnics and leisurely walks, though some note the limited facilities and the uphill terrain.
"A great place to relax, walk and enjoy the wonderful view of Barcelona."
mahmoud hamouri
"Amazing place to go for a long walk or a nice hike. Super easy to arrive (just 30 minutes from the City Center) and I'd say that the difficulty level is about 4 on a 1 to 10 scale. I appreciated the sunset, the sky full of colours and the Tibidabo just as an astonishing background. The area seemed super safe, since mostly young people (international) gather to drink and talk. Super recommended!"
Emiliano Castro
"Very nice place to spend some hours far from the city noise. I went with my dog, took the yellow line (L4) until Alfonso X station.
The views of Barcelona are incredible, you can also see the sea!
Theres some places to sit and a water spot in the top."

Exploring the Panoramic Views
Many visitors recommend heading towards the area known as 'Turó de la Rovira' for some of the most spectacular photo opportunities. While this specific spot is technically adjacent to Parc del Guinardó and part of the larger Guinardó hill, it's often associated with the park's scenic offerings. The remnants of anti-aircraft batteries from the Spanish Civil War add a historical layer to the landscape, contrasting with the modern city below. Remember to wear comfortable shoes, as reaching these prime viewing spots involves some uphill walking.
The Tranquil Water Features
While not as grand as some of Barcelona's more famous fountains, these water features contribute significantly to the park's overall charm and appeal. They are particularly delightful during warmer months, offering a refreshing visual and a sense of coolness. Visitors often find these spots perfect for a quiet break during their exploration of the park, providing a picturesque backdrop for a moment of tranquility.
A Local's Running Haven
As highlighted by local advice, the park is particularly appealing for morning runs due to its relative quietness and the beautiful light. Unlike the ticketed areas of other parks, Parc del Guinardó is freely accessible, making it a convenient and popular choice for residents. The combination of natural beauty, varied topography, and free access solidifies its reputation as a top spot for outdoor exercise in Barcelona.
