"My experience in this wonderful Okupa dates back to 1990. They took me in when I was wandering through the world with not much more than a backpack. Everyone was so kind and there wasn’t much, but we shared food and they had a place for me to sleep with a shower. It was a sanctuary. I have been inside, and it was truly amazing, so for all those racist haters: this is not a tourist attraction, this is a home and a refuge, and I guess that you would never be welcomed due to your evident privilege and unkind attitude of not caring for others. They made me feel so cared for and they made me love Barcelona so much that 10 years later I moved to Barcelona with my husband and children. I will always be grateful."
