"I went from the south of Portugal to Caminha to do the ferry crossing to Spain, and I was told that the ferry was closed because the platform on the Spanish side had sunk. However, this happened nine months ago, and the Spanish authorities are not trying to solve the problem. This ferry is one of the most significant symbols of the friendship between Portugal and Spain and one of the most entertaining ways to cross the border. It's a shame that the Spanish authorities simply ignore the problem and let the ferry rot."

Not mentioned anywhere on the road from Santiago to there, except at the ticket offices on either side of the river. The overland detour to the other side was only 3/4 hr instead of 10 minutes, so no drama. Next time maybe."
