What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Seoul Olympic Stadium as an iconic venue with a grand architectural presence and a vibrant atmosphere, especially for major K-pop concerts. The surrounding Olympic Park is a significant draw for its beauty and recreational opportunities. However, some note potential upkeep challenges due to the stadium's age and the intense crowds and logistical hurdles associated with popular events.
"I've been there for the Seoul Festa opening ceremony concert and it was really nice ! The venu is big and the stadium is really nice. Unfortunately there were a lot of rain so not the best for the artists performing and for the crowd outside. Expect that it was really good and the stadium is clean, big and easy to find you seat too !"

"Olympic park is a great place to spend your day. Stadium's iconic arched design and capacity to hold over 100,000 spectators make it an architectural marvel. The stadium's historical significance is imprinted in its structure, serving as a reminder of the nation's progress. While the stadium's aesthetics and size are impressive, some may find its upkeep challenging, given its age. Overall, the Olympic Stadium in Seoul stands as a tribute to international sportsmanship and the nation's transformation, despite potential maintenance considerations in the future."

"I watched NCT 127 The Link+ in Seoul. It was my first time having an outdoor concert. The stadium is really big. I was on the 3rd floor. The view is not bad actually because you can see the whole stage from this view. It was during October and it was pretty cold at night. So make sure to bring your blanket/hot pack if you watch an event at night there"

The Legacy of the Seoul Olympic Stadium
Today, the stadium's immense capacity, often exceeding 100,000 spectators, makes it a sought-after venue for the biggest names in music, particularly K-pop. Artists like BTS, IU, NCT, and TWICE have all graced its stage, drawing massive crowds and creating unforgettable fan experiences. The stadium's historical significance combined with its modern use as a concert venue creates a unique atmosphere for attendees.
While the stadium's grandeur is undeniable, its age means that upkeep can be a consideration. However, its architectural marvel and its role in both sporting and cultural history ensure its continued prominence in Seoul's landscape. For visitors, attending an event here is not just about the performance but also about experiencing a piece of Korean history and modern pop culture.
Navigating K-Pop Concerts at the Stadium
Planning is crucial for these events. Tickets are notoriously difficult to obtain, often selling out in minutes. Fans recommend setting alarms and being logged into ticketing sites well in advance. For those attending, arriving early is advised not only to navigate the crowds and find your seats but also to explore the surrounding Olympic Park and the Music Star Zone, where you can find handprints of your favorite idols.
Comfort is key for long concerts. Given that many performances are outdoors, dressing in layers is essential, especially for evening shows in cooler months. Bringing a blanket or hot packs can make a significant difference. While the stadium offers food and drinks, bringing your own water bottle (if allowed) or planning a meal before entering can save time and money.
