What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Odaecheon Riverside Park offers a fun water park experience with a wave pool, slides, and heated pools, making it enjoyable for families. However, some facilities may appear aged or not always be operational, and visitors should be cautious of slippery wooden floors in changing areas. The mandatory bathing cap is a key entry requirement.
"This is a fun resort with a very tidy water park that was good fun. It's not a huge one like you find in some western parks but it is pretty well equipped with a wave area, multiple slides (not all functioning though - I think it depends on the season) water jets and hot water pools as well as hot rooms and such (again some not all working). One bad point is the wooden flooring used in the changing areas. It's keeping in with the eastern style but somewhat hazardous as it requires mopping all the time. Other places tend to have textured tiles that are hard to lose grip on even when wet but I almost slipped a few times myself. While I was there a slightly older woman slipped and dislocated her leg and had to go to hospital! So be warned to take care!
Note the Korean oddity of using baseball caps as well - so bring one with you - There is an on site shop incase you forget though!"

The island's tranquil ambiance and friendly locals create a perfect escape from the hustle, ensuring a memorable and rejuvenating experience."

"It's been alright. We're a little spoiled from Caribbean bay....
In parts looks little aged, but generally in good shape.
We were there on a cold winter day and mostly enjoyed the heated outdoor pool.
Entrance fee adult: 55.000 won/day, kids 45.000 won.
As usually in Korea, you will need to rent a life jacket if you want to enter(the very tiny) wave pool.
You're required to wear a bathing cap(can be purchased for 4.000 won on 1st floor).
If you are short of bathers, they rent them at the same store (7.000 won for adults and 5.000 won for kids), but you can certainly always buy new ones as well.
The deck chairs need to be rented, too. (I didn't, rather used the stools in the outdoor pool in front of the pool coffee shop)"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Remember to bring or purchase bathing caps as they are mandatory. Also, keep an eye on the slippery wooden floors in the changing areas to ensure the little ones stay safe. Renting life jackets for the wave pool is a good idea for younger swimmers. Consider arriving early or on a weekday to avoid the biggest crowds and give your kids more space to play.
💰 Budget Travelers
Instead of renting deck chairs, look for available stools in less crowded areas to save on rental fees. Visiting on weekdays and during off-peak hours can also make the experience feel more valuable by allowing you to enjoy more attractions without long waits.

Navigating Entry and Amenities
Be aware of the park's flooring, particularly in the changing areas. The wooden flooring, while aiming for an aesthetic, can be quite slippery when wet. Despite some areas appearing a bit aged and the occasional non-functioning amenity (which may be seasonal), the park is generally considered to be in good shape and offers significant fun, especially for children. Planning for a full day, around 6 hours or more, is highly recommended to make the most of the experience.
Seasonal Considerations and Crowd Management
To maximize your enjoyment and minimize wait times, visiting during off-peak hours is strongly advised. Mornings are generally less crowded, allowing for more freedom to explore the slides and pools. Weekdays also tend to be less busy than weekends, offering a more relaxed atmosphere. While the park is described as having a medium crowd level during winter, visiting on a weekday morning can help ensure a low-crowd experience.
