Visitors praise Seokguram Grotto for its serene Buddha statue and intricate sculptures, calling it a must-visit historical site. The peaceful forest walk to the grotto is a highlight, offering a tranquil experience. However, some find the journey involving multiple bus transfers inconvenient, and national holidays can lead to significant crowds and delays.

"Great We enjoyed the bus trip with line 12 through the gig Gave the total trip an even better feel
Short hike from bus stop ro grotto Great experience Unfortunately not allowed to take pictures form the statues Recommended"

"The best part of the Seokguram grotto was the journey from the parking lot to the Buddha. The 10 minute stroll up the hill on a beautiful forest road was worth the trip. The Buddha itself is a gorgeous example, but you will have to take a picture in your mind because no photos are allowed. That's OK though because you're not there for the picture; you're there for the experience. Enjoy the moment and the scenery -- and watching the barefoot walkers."

"A temple worth taking the trip from Gyeongju!!

There is a short film on the elaborate construction techniques of the stone temple at The National Museum of Korea in Seoul. The statue of the Buddha is very serene!! One just wants to stay there and take in the peace and serenity.

One takes bus # 11 from across the street from the central bus station in Gyeongju that takes one on an hour ride to Bulguksa Temple, there, once again, switch buses to Bus # 12 (across the street) for a short and scenic bus ride up the hill. There is a short scenic treck up to the Seokguram Grotto.

There is an open sided traditional structure with a giant bett - one gets to "ring" this giant bell by paying 1000 Won for peace. We'll worth the experience.

One has the option not to take the bus back down and take a short - very scenic - 2.2 km hike down to Bulguksa temple - that we did.

One bonus- half way down the treck is a mineral spring with sweet mineral water routed through a stone dragon's mouth. The water is very sweet indeed and very refreshing.

A must visit historical site when visiting Gyeongju!!"
