It was built between 1776 and 1777 as a gun powder store and today is probably the only surviving building of its kind from this era.
It’s narrow and the stairs are steep, but it displays a wide variety of the weapons from the 18th century.
Lyle is very friendly and will happily give you guidance on this museum as well as others in the area.
