Visiting the Garden Route Wolf Sanctuary was one of the highlights of our trip. The sanctuary is beautifully maintained, and the staff are clearly passionate about the animals and their wellbeing. It’s not just wolves—they have huskies, jackals, wild dogs, and even some farm animals, all in spacious and clean enclosures.
The guided tour was both informative and engaging. We learned a lot about the wolves’ behaviour, their rescue stories, and the importance of conservation. You can really feel how much love and care goes into every part of this sanctuary.
What stood out most was the peaceful atmosphere—perfect for animal lovers and families alike. The walkways are easy to follow, and there’s even a lovely little café and gift shop on site. Also, the opportunity to see wolves up close in a safe and ethical environment is something you don’t come across often.
