What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lesedi Cultural Village for its authentic cultural immersion, vibrant performances, and unique accommodation. Many highlight the educational value and the welcoming nature of the local communities. Some find the experience can feel a bit commercialized, and the food, while traditional, might not appeal to all palates.
"This is an amazing place - nice tours of the replica villages.
The craft market has a very wide fare of wares to choose from - very reasonably priced if you are a tourist from Europe.
The video show, however, needs to be updated - it refers to "Bushmen" and calls King Shaka the "Black Napoleon" as if Napoleon was the gold standard to aspire to.
Other than that, this is a fantastic place that is more than worth every single cent you spend."
Kanyanta Sunkutu
"Signed up for the tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were 10min late but missed only a small part of the video introduction - this video needs a serious update and revamp + needs subtitles.
A bit sad that they didn’t take us to all the different villages - we missed two - but pleased these were still accessible for us to walk through. (This is where the final star is lost.)
Food was delicious but insufficient for the size of the group that was having lunch, so it was disappointing to miss out on some items."
Gareth Armstrong
"Great place to learn about the tribes of South Africa. As you walk in there are small shops with trinkets and things to buy, then we did drum lessons, which everyone really enjoyed. Next we did a small tour of the different tribes, learned how they greet each other and facts about each. We then watched a show, highlighting different dances from the tribes, it was so fun!
Lastly we had a nice dinner."
