What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mlondozi Picnic Site is praised for its breathtaking dam views and clean facilities, offering a peaceful escape. Visitors appreciate the option to rent cooking equipment for a bush braai. However, the challenging gravel road access and lack of food sales are noted drawbacks.
"The Mlondozi Picnic Site should definitely be on your itinerary to visit. The views of the Mlondozidam from the picnic site are beautiful and breathtaking. When I visited, the site, including the bathrooms, was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly. One of my favorite things to do while in the Kruger National Park is visiting picnic spots and cooking some brunch. This is made even easier at the Mlondozi Picnic Site as you are able to rent a gas canister and skottel (R 40 in June 2024) at the picnic area. If you are planning to visit, it is good to note that the gravel roads leading to Mlondozi were also in a good condition. Overall, definitely recommend a visit."

"I do not recommend going here. The road to this place is very bad. You will have to drive 3 kilometers along a disgusting rocky road. I thought we would not get there, but break down on the way. There is no store here. You can not rent a gas stove. In general, there is nothing to do here."

"This lookout in the Kruger is a must-visit stop. Amazing view over the dam, clean restrooms and friendly staff that cleans your car windows."
