Reviews Summary
Phalaborwa Gate is generally praised for its friendly and efficient staff, making it a welcoming entrance to Kruger National Park. Visitors appreciate the convenience and safety of this gate. However, some note that the bathrooms can be less than pristine, and free entry days can lead to significant queues.
"There's been a big change if attitude of the staff at Kruger since our last visit 3 years ago. We didn't find surly staff getting the impression that they are just doing a job... We found people who are genuinely grateful for each tourist coming to stay. Particularly at the security gate. Not so much at reception. Although on our second entry earlier in the day, there was a jovial atmosphere. Maybe it's the staff in the north? Time will tell. Not too long a wait. what a pleasant surprise. Toilets were clean too. Even found a welcome note made from pebbles on our arrival...not in departure though.
Found out since that they've won best gate in Kruger park, and although we haven't been to any others this year, they would certainly get our vote!"
