Reviews Summary
Cape Vidal is praised for its stunning, calm beaches and excellent snorkeling opportunities, making it a beautiful natural gem. Visitors enjoy the wildlife encounters and scenic game drives through iSimangaliso Wetland Park. However, some facilities, particularly the cabins, are noted as needing renovation, and visitors must be vigilant about securing food from bold monkeys and honey badgers.
"Cape Vidal is a beautiful jewel edged at the end of a very insightful game drive. The sea is calm n clean n there are life guards on duty. There is a camping site for those that enjoy the bush n wildlife 24/7"
Arlene Smith
"Camped at Vidal. The bathrooms are clean, water came out clear and hot with good pressure for a shower. Construction maintenance is needed - eg broken window, one light working in bathroom, drainage. You do need drinking water. The honey badger raided bins at night and the monkeys are getting fearless. Unfortunately we heard of other visitors throwing their left over food in the bushes which makes the wildlife more brazen.
Stunning beach for snorkelling even at a neap tide
Curio shop had lots of ice creams, cold drinks, some basics. Cash only!"
Lucy Sessions
"The newly refurbished cabins are basic, but comfortable. You will need to provide your own water for drinking. The beach is beautiful. Plenty of bush buck around the cabins. The Samango and Vertvet Monkeys are troublesome. You need to keep your doors and windows closed,as they will raid your cabin. It's a lovely place to recharge and rest."
