What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Crocodile Bridge Gate for its abundant wildlife, especially along the river, and the charming, well-equipped rest camp. The convenient location for early morning game drives and the friendly hospitality are frequently highlighted. Some note the camp's proximity to the road can cause noise, and dining options are limited, suggesting self-catering is best.
"After a long, long drive we stayed one night at the end of September to be in the park before making our way through the Kruger from south to north.
Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp is smaller than some of the other rest camps in the Kruger, and 2nd busiest out of the 4 we stayed at. It is nice and flat with quite large pitches that are defined. There is electricity points that are shared between 4-6 pitches and water taps. Each pitch has a movable braai and there are quite a few trees for shade with monkeys in watching for an easy meal.
The ablution blocks are ample and clean and there is a laundry too. Washing-up areas are roofed stations that are dotted around, which also have electric hobs to cook at. The one closest to us had 3 out of 4 working but only one ring on each. There is an instant hot water geyser on the wall which people tended to use to fill flasks for their early morning safari.
There is no restaurant at this rest camp, but there is a souvenir gift shop that also sells supplies, and a little coffee shop next to it. Close by is the petrol station. We liked Crocodile Bridge as it was nicely laid out, and even though the pitches were dirt there was a large grassed area between the camping and the chalets, so perfect for children to have a play. The reception area for booking in was quick and simple and went really fast as we had pre-booked our stay."

"Very nice little camp.
Close to the road, so a bit noisy at the fence. Ablutions are good and camp sites are nice. Chalets and permanent tents available.
Shop is small but well stocked. Petrol station is useful. Gate times are more flexible here."

"One of the quieter camps but lovely! Getting out the gate in the morning you see a lot of animals early into the drive. Accommodation is lovely. One of my favourites."
