What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary

"This map mark was originally referring to the natural preserve of Small Soča Gorge. Some ‘smart guy’ took the ownership of the mark and renamed it to his accommodation business “Apartments Small Soča Gorge” to gain a lot of positive reviews and be visible on the map (although almost none of the reviews are related to their accommodation). such behavior should be banned."

"Edited due to host explanation, but I ll leave the reviw there, still suggesting to approach ggl support.
It seems that the Mala Korita Soče landmark was highjacked by the owner of the apartment that was conveniently called "Mala Korita Soče". I would advise the owner to pinpoint the accurate location of his apartment as I believe he is not owning a bridge (current ggl map location of the apartment is located at the river bridge).
For your reference you can check out "Velika korita Soče"
Would this be a correct location of your apartments - 86 Soča, 5232 Soča, Slovenija?

The Geology and Hydrology of the Soča River
The river's flow can vary significantly depending on the season and rainfall. While it appears serene in some spots, the rapids within the gorge are powerful and fast-moving. This dynamic nature is a key part of the gorge's appeal, offering a sense of raw, untamed nature. Visitors are often struck by the sheer force and beauty of the water as it navigates the confined space.
Understanding the geological processes at play enhances the appreciation for this natural wonder. The limestone is porous, allowing water to seep through and dissolve the rock over time, widening cracks and forming the characteristic shapes of the gorge. It's a slow, continuous process that has shaped the landscape over thousands of years, creating a unique and memorable natural spectacle.
Exploring the Soča Valley
Beyond the Small Soča Gorge, consider visiting its larger counterpart, the Great Soča Gorge (Velika Korita Soče), which offers a different scale of natural beauty. The valley is also dotted with charming villages, historical sites from WWI (like the Kobarid Museum), and numerous hiking trails leading to panoramic viewpoints. The entire region is a paradise for anyone seeking an escape into nature and a chance to experience the wild heart of Slovenia.
When planning your visit, remember that the Soča Valley is a popular destination, especially during summer. However, even with more visitors, the vastness of the landscape means you can often find quieter spots to enjoy the tranquility. The local tourism infrastructure is well-developed, offering a range of accommodations and services to make your exploration comfortable and enjoyable.
