What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally appreciate the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum for its detailed explanations in English and its diverse exhibits, particularly the 'Man and Time' section and collections from China and Japan. Some reviewers noted a lack of interactive elements and occasional disorganization, but the overall experience is considered worthwhile for those interested in cultural exploration.
"Liked this museum. Detailed explanations were in English. Especially enjoyed the many perspectives of 'time' in that exhibit. The personal collection of furniture, artifacts and everyday items from the family who spent time in China and Japan was also interesting. All exhibits are worthwhile. Enjoyed lunch outside in the museum cafe afterwards - prices reasonable. There is so much to see, it's tiring. I recommend seeing a couple of floors, then going to the cafe for a bit of rest and recharge, then finishing up. Senior pricing is available"

"A museum with exhibitions about various aspects of people's lives, mostly in the past. You can find out a lot about the Slovenian traditions. It has decent descriptions but no interactive elements (the one thing we saw didn't work). They also have sections on traditional cultures from other continents. The exhibition Man and Time is the most interesting in my opinion. There was also a temporary exhibition about an interesting life of a japanese woman in Slovenia in the first half of 20th century."
