What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Lake Bohinj's serene atmosphere, stunning natural beauty, and clear waters, often praising it as a more peaceful alternative to Lake Bled. The affordability of activities and parking is also a significant draw. Some find the water a bit chilly for extended swimming, and while generally accessible, some natural areas may require more effort to navigate.
"Much quieter than lake bled with regular transport links from bled and Ljubljana. People swim, hire paddleboards etc from here. A few bar/restaurants to choose from. The church you can climb the tower and see the inside for a few euros. It was very pretty inside the tower did have some information. I would say there is more to see in this church than the one on the island in Bled."

"Peaceful, natural, and absolutely beautiful!
Lake Bohinj is less crowded than Lake Bled but just as stunning—maybe even more for nature lovers. Surrounded by mountains and crystal-clear water, it’s perfect for swimming, kayaking, or just relaxing by the shore. The atmosphere is calm and untouched, great for hiking and enjoying the fresh alpine air. We loved the scenic views and the overall peaceful vibe. A hidden gem in Slovenia!
It has plenty of parking and at less cost compared to lake bled. It's bigger and calm."

"Loved this beautiful lake, was lucky to find parking really close by. Was perfect for a swim, with nice clean fresh water. Great natural beauty all around. You can rest a rowing boat, stand up paddle board or a kayak at cheaper prices than lake bled. It's bigger so feels less crowded too. We luckily found a toilet close by too which was handy as I was travelling with kids."
