What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff at bike rental shops, who offer excellent route recommendations and adjust bikes for a perfect fit. While the cycling experience is generally positive, a few reviews mention that some bikes could benefit from better maintenance, with occasional issues like noisy gears or chain problems. Despite these minor hiccups, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the beautiful scenery and great service.
"Highly recommend ❤️🔥 Huge selection of bikes to rent, super friendly staff, and the guy at the counter gave us a fantastic recommendation for a cycling route, we were genuinely impressed.
Minus one star, though, because one of the bikes sounded like it was trying to beatbox the entire ride. Gears were snapping, crackling, and popping like breakfast cereal. A small hiccup in an otherwise awesome experience"

"Rented road bikes to ride from nearby parking lot to a ~110 km loop from Bled. Very good service making sure bike fit is good and providing puncture kit for free. One member of party actually crashed, bending derailleur hanger and the owner was very kind and allowed us to pay for new part, switch bikes, and continue. Would have been very reasonable to charge for labor/time to replace derailleur hanger on top of cost of the part, but they did not, which was very kind. Highly recommend as a shop and a place to start a beautiful ride."

"Staff were really nice, got the bikes adjusted to our measurements and helped adjust our routes with their local knowledge.
However one bike had to go back as it made an awful noise in low gears and the stem wasn’t straight. They did swap it for another which worked well. Our other bike kept dropping the chain off the top chainring. Not the best maintained for premium rentals unfortunately."

👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Stick to the flatter, designated paths directly around the lake for a more relaxed experience. These routes offer beautiful views without overly strenuous climbs. Pack plenty of snacks and water, and plan for frequent stops at playgrounds or scenic spots. The island itself is a great destination, but remember you'll need to park your bikes and take a boat.

Choosing Your Perfect Ride
It's crucial to ensure your chosen bike is in good working order. While many rental shops pride themselves on well-maintained fleets, a few reviews have noted issues with gears or alignment. Always test your bike before embarking on a significant journey. Check the brakes, shift through the gears, and ensure the tires are properly inflated. If anything feels amiss, communicate with the rental staff immediately – they are usually happy to make adjustments or swap your bike for another.
Many rental services also provide essential accessories, often free of charge. This can include puncture repair kits, helmets, and sometimes even basic tools. Knowing this can save you a lot of hassle if you encounter a flat tire or a minor mechanical issue during your ride.
Navigating the Scenic Routes
Many visitors rave about the circular cycling routes that take in photographic hotspots like the churches of Sveti Tomas and Jamnik. These routes offer breathtaking views of the Julian Alps and the surrounding countryside. However, be prepared for some challenging, steep hills on these more adventurous paths. The effort is often rewarded with unparalleled vistas, making it a worthwhile endeavor for those seeking a bit of a workout.
For a more relaxed experience, the paths directly around Lake Bled are generally flatter and offer continuous, stunning views of the water and the iconic island. These routes are perfect for families or those who prefer a gentler pace. Remember to factor in time for stops at viewpoints, cafes, and charming villages along the way to truly soak in the beauty of the area.
