What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Žiče Charterhouse to be a historically significant and architecturally interesting site, particularly appreciating the blend of medieval ruins with modern restoration. However, some feel the admission price is high, especially when certain exhibition areas are closed, and suggest the value proposition could be improved.
"A nice place but not worth the price.
Especially considering only half of the exhibition rooms were even open. A 10 minute wander around to gawk at the ruins and off you go. Pretty place nonetheless, I'd value it at €2.50 per person, not €8!"
Quiet Thunder
"A must visit monastery of a rich cultural and historical value. We visited on a sunny spring day. It has been partly restored and has a small museum inside. Strolling in the courtyard can bring you back in times where the monks strolled in peace and quiet around the area and cultivated special herbs.
There is also the oldest "gostilna" just a few steps away from where you can drink coffee or local herbal tea with the view of the monastery."
Mirko Rovčanin
"Woderfully restored historic monestary with great modern arhitecture twist - state of art roof top"
