What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the State Courts for its impressive modern architecture and the informative Heritage Gallery. The building's accessibility from Chinatown and the polite, professional demeanor of some staff members are frequently highlighted. However, some reviews mention the utilitarian nature of the building and the strict security protocols.
"The State Courts is a stone's throw away from Chinatown Station Exit D. Take the escalator up & walk past People's Park Centre. I know everyone else before me has left 1-star reviews, but my experience there yesterday was really pleasant from start to finish. Counter staff were professional (just bear in mind, they CANNOT give advice on your case) while the Duty Magistrate was cordial in his interactions with me in the Chamber. So no, there are no rude monsters running the Judiciary, you WILL still be heard as a human instead as a cold case file. Just treat everybody with basic common sense respect & you will fare well!"
Cecilia Lim
"Decent and utilitarian. Serve the people well. After the 7 wonders of Singapore (a local friendly reference to some Civil buildings that uses expensive building material), this building has perhaps revert to a more acceptable humble look -- plastered white frame with vertical and horizontal screen."
Meng Foo Choo
"The building is well designed, and the each of the courts have individual cushioned chairs which are very comfortable.
I went for day 5 of PP v. Pritam Singh"
