What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Stamford Arts Centre is praised for its well-maintained facilities, clean restrooms, and cozy classrooms, making it a pleasant venue for events and workshops. Visitors appreciate the diverse range of cultural performances, art exhibitions, and interactive installations, especially during events like the Singapore Night Festival. However, some guests have noted inconsistencies in staff helpfulness, with experiences varying from very helpful to indifferent.
"Enjoyed ‘A Taste of Gamelan’ by maestro #JoyceTeo and NAFA Gamelan CCA as part of #ArtsHouse #AdatewithTradition at the Stamford Arts Centre. The facility was well maintained, the toilets clean, the classrooms cosy.
#CheeSauFen’s Chinese Calligraphy in Gold was a brief introduction to calligraphy by a famous scholar from the Tang dynasty. This person’s writings were so beautiful, it had been carefully transcribed countless times thru the ages & was used for a calming, mindful exercise of pasting faux gold leaf onto selected meaningful words (mine was yong3 or ‘forever’) chosen by the playful picking of numbers, like when you visit a chinese fortune teller. It was a fun evening practicing calligraphy strokes on vanishing water paper (harry potter would have been impressed) - a very eco-friendly alternative to pen & normal paper.
#YangJie’s ‘The Garden of Stories’, an interactive kinetic sound installation of kampung life on the grass verge between Middle Road and the Arts Centre (& i was told 2 more inside the centre) looked amazing in the night. Absolutely brilliant reuse of everyday objects, an engineering curiosity to put everything together as works of art. This exhibition ends 10.30pm on 6/9/25. Do come by when you are walking your rounds during SG Night Festival 2025."
