Reviews Summary

Kazantip Nature Reserve offers striking coastal scenery and historical ruins, with opportunities to observe birdlife. However, visitors frequently note issues with litter and industrial presence, which detract from the natural experience. Despite these drawbacks, many find the panoramic views and unique environment worthwhile.

"At the end of June 2025, my family and I were vacationing in the village of Mysovoye, Crimea. From talking to locals and vacationers, we learned that the Kazantip Nature Reserve is located near the village of Mysovoye, and walking along it offers stunning views. Having collected our thoughts and prepared ourselves physically, my son and I purchased permits to visit the reserve on the website for 350 rubles per ticket and set off along the trail early in the morning. Initially, just like later, we did not see anything surprising on the territory of the reserve, except for the garbage lying along the trail. Along the entire route, we saw traces of human activity, which include scattered metal cables along the shore (probably from the Soviet period). Having climbed the hill, we saw a concrete structure, which apparently was once used as a water reservoir (this is probably the main attraction of the Kazantip Nature Reserve), from which a "wonderful" view of the operating oil wells and oil depot, which are located in the middle of the cape, opens up. A wonderful reserve, isn't it...!? But that's not all. There are campsites located far away on the territory of the Kazantip Reserve, I can't wrap my head around it, how is that...?! There is also a campsite on the territory of the reserve...?! For your information, the trail doesn't go to them. But that's nothing. Returning along the trail, my son and I noticed that near the cemetery bordering the Kazantip Reserve, there is an information stand with a picture of a hare and the inscription "NATURE IS OUR WEALTH. WHEN IN NATURE, OBSERVE THE RULES, PROTECT THE STEPPE FROM FIRE" on which, paradoxically, THERE ARE BULLET HOLES FROM FIREARMS. One gets the impression that someone was sighting in their weapon before the poaching hunt. When I asked a reserve employee how the bullet holes appeared on the stand, he explained that they could have appeared when soldiers were buried in a nearby cemetery. But we are not fools.........., we know that when soldiers are buried, shots are fired with blank cartridges and into the air, not along the horizon. In general, the impressions from visiting the reserve are depressing. Why and who decided that this is a reserve at all?! Well, if they made such a decision, then okay, but why is there economic activity on the territory of the cape?! According to the reserve employees, after the collapse of the fishing state farm, local residents on the territory of the cape were allocated shares for economic activity. In short, there are more questions than answers. I do not recommend visiting 👎👎👎."

"A stunning natural place. You need to get a pass to enter the reserve, at the office located in Shchyolkino and it costs 200 rubles per person, then you can drive to the end of Mysovoy and climb the mountain to the reserve. Very beautiful bays, cliffs and a habitat for cormorants."

"A wonderful, beautiful place with stunning natural energy. Besides a walk through the reserve, I highly recommend a kayaking trip through the reserve's unforgettable coves. It's just a shame that July in the Sea of Azov was famous for its jellyfish, so we weren't able to swim in these coves."
