What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Trifkovićev Square for its unique retro ambiance, reminiscent of the Yugoslav era, and its exceptionally warm, home-like atmosphere. The weekend buffet breakfast is a major highlight, offering a vast array of delicious traditional Serbian dishes at a great price. The friendly, English-speaking staff and the presence of a kids' play area add to its appeal. The main drawback for some is the allowance of smoking indoors.
"It’s not like me to forget to take a photo of the food when it arrives but in this case, I did! We came here for breakfast after a local recommendation. The name in English translates to The Pantry and it was a cute yet quirky little place. Our breakfast was nice and the prices were cheap for us. We got scrambled eggs with sausage and the farmers plate. I was impressed with both presentations on the plates. The fresh orange juice was delicious and my partner got a coffee and said it was great. The waiter spoke English which helped us a lot and there was also a little kids play area which helped keep the kids entertained while we finished eating. A nice place to eat at. I heard that on the weekend they do a buffet breakfast for a very good price too and the spread and options available for that look absolutely unreal."

"Wonderful place in the very centre of Novi Sad. Decorated in retro style with many memorabilia from the old YU days.
Food, served on buffet, is always excellent (have been here many times before).
Service is fast and staff people are very polite.
For breakfast you get two plates, first for salty things and second for sweets and you can fill them as many times as you want.
All of the meals/dishes are traditional from the area and are of first rate quality (from before we know that they are acquired from local producers).
Only minus, in my opinion, is that smoking is allowed, but since that is the case in almost every single restaurant and cafe in Serbia, it's not really a minus."

"We went here for breakfast, and it felt like stepping into someone’s home! Some guests were playing the piano while others sang along, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The waiter was incredibly kind, and the food tasted like it was made by a loving mother. Even the restroom decor carried the same lived-in charm. It was such a delightful way to start our morning!"
