Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Popenguine Nature Reserve for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the cliffside trails offering breathtaking ocean views. The well-marked paths and diverse flora and fauna make it a hiker's paradise. Some minor concerns include the presence of trash on the beach and trail maintenance during the wet season.

"What a lovely nature reserve! We spontaneously headed out for an afternoon hike (16:00 - 18:30) and did a neat 2h loop down the valley and back over the cliffs towards Popenguine. Stunning nature, plenty of birds and insects (the latter being in interestingly close proximity throughout parts of the hike), high grasses, amazing views over the beach and Popenguine as well as clear markings of the paths. To visitors that are smaller than 1,3 meters it would be advisable to be very resistant to pollen of grasses. Overall the nature was amazing, the only point of criticism being that some of the plants could have done with some watering."

"It's a very beautiful green space that I would normally give five stars due to the scenery but since I'm not a big fan of walking I give it four. If you love hiking, that's the place to be.

"Can’t give less than four stars to a natural reserve but I will comment that there is loads of trash on the beach, the trails were not well maintained and the passable routes were limited to less than a half mile (during October, granted this is the end of the wet season so im sure very different in the dry season). I found the area around the preserve quite productive for birds as was the beach (not technically part of preserve)"
