very good location
it has a lot of blocks and it's not too crowded even during Ramadan"
Reaction In Postiton
"I've had the worst experience at this B Laban shop, twice. The first time, there was no cashier or anyone else to take our order, and we were told to wait 30 minutes for the cashier to return. The second time, the cashier was present but stocking shelves with other staff. We waited at the counter for several minutes and were ignored.
When we asked if someone would take our order, the cashier said they were waiting for supplies and told us to wait 10 minutes-twice. Unacceptable service."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
The Jabal Omar Development
While the Address Jabal Omar and Marriott Jabal Omar are prominent hotels within this complex, Souq Al-Khalil itself serves as a central hub for shopping and dining. It offers a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the immediate vicinity of the Haram, making it a preferred spot for those seeking essentials or a meal without the intense crowds. However, visitors should be aware that some sections of the broader Jabal Omar area might still be undergoing construction, requiring caution.
The development aims to balance modern amenities with the spiritual significance of the location. It provides a crucial respite and a place for pilgrims to gather necessities, enjoy diverse culinary options, and find souvenirs, all within a short distance of the Kaaba.
Culinary Delights at the Food Court
Beyond the main meals, visitors can also enjoy freshly squeezed juices from various stalls, providing a refreshing break from the Makkah heat. The availability of these diverse food options within the complex makes it convenient for pilgrims to dine without needing to venture far from their accommodations or the Haram.
However, it's worth noting that the dining experience can be mixed. While the variety is a plus, some patrons have reported instances of poor customer service at specific outlets, such as the B Laban shop, where waiting times and staff attentiveness were issues. Therefore, while the food court is a great resource, managing expectations regarding service at individual establishments is advisable.
Shopping for Essentials and Souvenirs
In addition to essentials, the souq features numerous souvenir shops where visitors can find a variety of items to commemorate their spiritual journey. These can range from prayer beads and Islamic calligraphy to local crafts and attire. It's a good place to pick up gifts for loved ones back home.
While the mall hosts some well-known chain retailers, the focus for many visitors is on finding unique local products and essential items. The layout, though large, is designed to be navigable, offering a pleasant shopping experience away from the more crowded markets closer to the Haram.
