Montreal Garden is a magical and stunningly beautiful slice of paradise, high up in the mountain rainforest. The mature landscaping folds into a verdant gorge flowing with bubbling water and teaming with exotic plants and fabulous flowers including ginger lilies, heliconia, arthuria and orchids. The paths meander through soaring trees rich with birdsong, hummingbirds, butterflies and dragonflies.
The garden is tended by dedicated experts headed by the owner, a courteous expat called Tim. It is funded by market sales of its blooms and the modest entrance fee paid by visitors. There are no facilities other than spotlessly clean loos."

"We had an excellent day trip here. Bring literally everything you need, no facilities apart from toilets.
We were back packing so the usd150 taxi we were quoted was out of the question. Head to Little Tokyo and get yourself a bus to Richland Park. Cost EC5 each and the driver took us a little further up the mountain for another 20EC, not far but gained a decent amount of height. From the drop off another 20min walk on very broken roads gets you to the gardens.
The immediate calm was palpable, the garden borrows from the surrounding landscape which is just epic. We spent a good couple of hours and had lunch in one of the covered areas. Plenty of botanical diversity packed in with borders frothing with exotic flowers, plenty of lizards and a few hummingbirds. There were a few mosquitos that found us when we stopped for lunch but we didn't get bitten despite forgetting our deet.
Make sure you find the hidden garden!"
