"Stepping into Nyandungu Forest is like exhaling a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Hidden right within Kigali’s urban embrace, this lush sanctuary is a living, breathing testament to Rwanda’s deep respect for nature, conservation, and community healing.
The moment you enter, the noise of the city fades away and is replaced by the rustle of reeds, the chirp of birds, and the gentle hum of wetland life. The walking and cycling trails are immaculately maintained, perfect for reflection or recreation. Whether you’re strolling alone or with friends, every turn gifts you with scenic views, migratory birds dipping across the water, medicinal gardens showcasing Rwanda’s rich herbal heritage, and artistic rest spots that call you to sit and soak in the beauty.
What touches the soul most deeply is the park’s story: from a degraded wetland to a restored ecosystem. It’s not just a forest, it’s a second chance. A symbol of resilience and rebirth. Rwanda always finds a way to bloom, and Nyandungu is proof of that spirit.
This place is for everyone, the tired, the joyful, the curious, and the dreamers. Bring your camera, bring your journal, or just bring your heart. Kigali may be known for its cleanliness and calm, but Nyandungu gives it a pulse of green magic.

📍 Must-Do: Try the medicinal garden walk. And don’t forget to visit during golden hour, it’s poetic!"

"The place was serene, beautiful and the nature absolutely beautiful. The environment had butterflies and birds which I absolutely enjoyed.
For whatever reason, I expected a tour guide but I guess there was no need for one. At some point, I felt lost so I just turned back.
I also didn't leave with the same gate I came in with and I couldn't really figure out how to get there. Not a bad thing at all. Just shows how "big" the place is. I only wish there was better directions around the place."
