What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Uglich Watch Museum Chaika for its passionate guides and extensive collection of 'Chaika' watches, offering a deep dive into the factory's history. While some find the museum's presentation a bit dated, the engaging storytelling and historical significance make it a memorable experience for those interested in horology and industrial heritage.
"A museum of what no longer exists - a watch factory went bankrupt in 2006, leaving a small "artel" that produces watches in silver and gold frames. The exhibition is historical and technical: the history of the factory and its technologies. There are many stands with an assortment of watches that were produced - the most interesting thing in the museum. The museum is one big room. The director of the museum and the guide are wonderful, dedicated people, they tell interesting stories. The museum is for those who are nostalgic and understanding (children have nothing to do here - they don't know what "Chaika" is). If you need a tour, it's better to call and arrange a time. If you just want to look, you can come anyway."

"How many watches are there!!!! We looked at them for a long time. The museum workers spoke lovingly and very informatively about both the watches and the factory. It was a bit disappointing that the museum looks like it was made in Soviet times. I want to bring in some modernity. Adults will find it interesting."

"Honestly, at first I went on the excursion with little interest, but everything changed dramatically when the guide began to tell! A very, very interesting history of the clock, the history of the people of the city of Uglich! Thank you very much! This is the most interesting story! This is the best excursion in Uglich. Thank you!!!"
