"This was called as the "Way Place" The Catherine the great 2 build this as one of her stopover for resting while she travel from St.Petersburg to Moscow.
Now its an amazingly maintained museum which has many artifacts and great painings. Whice is very impressive.
The wooden finsih of the main reception area has been painted by an artist to look alike a wooden/timber finish. Thats amazing so as the marble finish of the second reception area.
Unless i was told by the guide i would never think it was a paining. Loved it and worth the visit."

"Many people would not expect to find such a grand place museum in Tver. Which also houses one of biggest Russian art collections from 18-20cc in the country. It feels like a smaller version of Tretyakovka or even Hermitage at that. From 16th cc Flemish masters artpieces to best world famous Russian painters of 19th century to the large collection of Russian Icons. Worth 2-3 hours visit easily. Guided tours are offered on premises ad hoc. Tickets could be made more expensive for everything that is offered on exhibit! There are comparatively tiny museums in Moscow where tickets cost more.."
