What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Vladimirsky Cathedral for its stunning Byzantine interiors, vibrant icons, and impressive architecture. The newly opened bell tower observation deck is a major draw, offering fantastic city views with a less strenuous climb than other landmarks. While admission is free, donations are appreciated, and the chance to experience bell ringing adds a unique element.
"Vladimirsky cathedral observation deck (since 2022) has become another interesting place from where you can have bird's eye view of St. Petersburg. It is located on the top of the bell tower next to the church itself. It is 41 meter high, which is two meters less than the level of St. Isaac's cathedral colonnade. Feels like it's also less difficult to climb. Apparently, because the steps are not as steep. You can easily learn about the opening hours and prices on the Internet.
The newly opened observation point gives an opportunity to entirely observe Vladimirsky district. The deck itself is quite spacious. There is as well a belfry. When a toller comes, he may give visitors a short lesson on bell ringing and for those who wish it might be allowed to practice. Such sessions are held 2-3 times a day."
