What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Grand Maket Russia is overwhelmingly praised for its incredible detail, interactive elements, and engaging portrayal of the entire country in miniature. Visitors, especially families, find it a fascinating and fun experience that can easily fill 1-3 hours. While the attraction itself is highly recommended, some visitors have noted confusion regarding its exact closing times.
"Grand Maket Russia is such an entertaining and fascinating attraction! The amount of detail is incredible,,, funny, cute, & spectacular little scenes are tucked into every corner, making it a delight to explore. As a family interested in all of Russia, we spent about 40 minutes to an hour walking around & could have easily stayed longer.
One of the most impressive parts was the display of military and naval bases, which was both educational & engaging. It’s a great place to watch, learn, & simply enjoy the artistry and storytelling of the miniature world.
A very important tip: arrive at least an hour before the closing time. The last ticket sales happen one hour before the museum closes.
Some online sources say Grand Maket stays open until 9 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays this is incorrect. When we visited on a Wednesday, we arrived at 6:55 PM expecting a later closing, only to find the ticket office already shutting down. Staff confirmed their hours are 10 AM to 8 PM daily.
Other than that, the experience was wonderful, the place is absolutely worth a visit if you’re in St. Petersburg."

Children will love the interactive buttons that activate trains, cars, animals, and even volcanoes! The day-to-night lighting effect is magical and adds to the experience. You can easily spend 1–2 hours here exploring all the little scenes.
It’s also educational and entertaining for adults. The museum is clean, well-organized, and easy to reach by metro or taxi. There’s even a small park nearby for kids to play after the visit.
Highly recommended for families—a must-visit if you're traveling with children in St. Petersburg!"

"I couldn’t get enough videos and photos. Some details in there are just amazing.
Started in 2008 and took about 5 years to build and still working on it , repairing and maintaining it to work for display is hard work.
With day and night features , every details of lighting and movements is fine work.
Highly recommend"
