What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Ryazan Regional Museum to be an interesting place with a good collection of Russian and foreign art, including ancient icons and porcelain. However, some find the exhibit labels difficult to read and have had mixed experiences with staff, with a few noting unwelcoming attitudes, especially near closing time.
"We visited the permanent exhibition, the museum is interesting. A large number of beautiful exhibits: paintings, engravings, dishes, furniture (albeit a little), ancient icons (ancient Russian art), sculpture, works of folk art (works of masters). One of the downsides is that the signs with captions for many of the paintings are very dark and difficult to read. Regarding the staff. The caretakers mostly behave normally, although there are some who are too intrusive. But one of the two cloakroom attendants who worked (an elderly woman with dark hair) was a real boor, and managed to slightly spoil the impression of the museum."
