"Built at the end of the 18th century, it was a beautiful estate. The 20th century did not spare such buildings, the estate suffered greatly, but now it is being restored and there is hope that someday it will become as beautiful as it was under the first owners, the Glebov-Streshnev family. In 1772, Fyodor Glebov - a general-in-chief, senator, hero of the Russo-Turkish War, after several unsuccessful matchmaking attempts, finally married Elizaveta Streshneva, the spoiled heiress of an old and noble boyar family, which was related to the royal family (the second wife of Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich, the founder of the Romanov dynasty, was Evdokia Streshneva). Glebov was 17 years older than his wife, he doted on her and did not spare money for the pleasure of his beloved woman. The famous architect of that time Nikolai Lvov built the estate in the shape of a necklace, commissioned by Glebov: the entrance gate is a clasp, the colonnade is a chain, the outbuildings are precious beads, and the main house is a luxurious pendant. The construction was completed in 1798, the housewarming celebrations lasted three weeks with various entertainments and many distinguished guests.
Alas, in the following year of 1799, Glebov died. Elizabeth lived for almost 40 more years, but she only came to the estate occasionally, and already under her heirs the buildings and the park began to fall into disrepair.
Inside the main house, only fragments of paintings on the walls have survived to this day, and in the ceremonial hall a double dome has been preserved: an inner one with an opening into the sky, like in the Roman Pantheon, and an outer one, imitating this very sky with clouds, because The Russian weather did not allow for a through hole to be left.
