Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Lermontov House Museum for its significant historical preservation and authentic atmosphere, offering a deep connection to the poet's life. The well-maintained estate grounds are also a highlight. However, some find large tour groups can detract from the experience, leading to noise and congestion.

"Excellent!"

Ni Ko

"The museum is significant. Especially for Pyatigorsk – M.Yu. Lermontov is definitely a city-forming enterprise. Although one could argue who was luckier here, the city or the poet. If this tragic event had happened in St. Petersburg, there would have been a memorial plaque on the house where he lived and died, and a couple of exhibition rooms. But here we have such a wonderful museum. With houses, flowers, oaks, and hazel groves. And all this in the bright autumn, and on a sunny day. We were simply lucky. We were there after 3 PM on a weekday, and there weren't many visitors."

"I really enjoyed the tour of M. Yu. Lermontov's house in Pyatigorsk. The house has been preserved exactly as it was during the poet's lifetime. He was brought here after the duel, and it was here that he was buried. The poet's personal belongings remain in the house: his desk, chair, pen, sheets of paper covered in Lermontov's handwriting, and his traveling trunk. It's fascinating to imagine life in the 19th century. In places like these, classic poets truly become real people, not just authors of works from the school curriculum."
