The peaceful ambiance and scenic river views are frequently highlighted as major draws. Some note the importance of modest dress and the potential impact of humidity on fresco viewing.
"The main attraction is the 13th century frescoes by Pskov masters in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin. The cathedral functions as a museum, entrance is for a small fee, and they let you in in any weather, unlike Mirozhsky.
The Nikolsky Church is active. The interior is tastefully decorated in the Greek style.
Overall, it is very pleasant, quiet, serene and has an air of antiquity.
It is easy to get there by bus."

"The monastery is located not far from the city on a high cliff of the bank of the river Velikaya. The monastery is ancient, buildings of the XIV-XVII centuries. Unfortunately, due to snow with rain and high humidity it was not possible to see the famous frescoes. Quiet, well-kept monastery. A good teahouse, where you can have a snack."

"The first time we were there was in the summer of 2007. Lots of flowers!! It is very cozy there now, despite the rain we got caught in. When entering, you need to be in a scarf and a skirt. You can get them at the entrance upstairs. There is a toilet on the territory. A good church shop, cash and non-cash payments are accepted. The church is not big, but it is so cozy there... The ruins of the old bell tower are fenced in, it is very interesting to see. Everyone has their own opinion, I really liked it there. Thanks to everyone who maintains this beauty."
