"Memory and history. Here you can see all the veterans of the Great Patriotic War in detail. There's an alley of heroes of the labor front. It's very educational. Schools should regularly hold tours for students. It's very useful to remind them of the history of our region."

"The Victory Park Memorial Complex The Victory Park Memorial Complex was opened in 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II to perpetuate the memory of the citizens of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky who died in the Great Patriotic War. Initially, it consisted of an Eternal Flame bowl placed inside a stylized volcano — the main symbol of Kamchatka — a five-pointed star, and semicircular memorial slabs made of black stone with the names of Kamchatka residents who died during World War II carved on them. Later, an initiative group of city residents and veteran organizations of the peninsula proposed expanding the memorial and arranging an Alley of Heroes and a stele in memory of internationalist soldiers who died in local internal and international military conflicts while fulfilling their military duty. Thus, to mark the assignment of the title of City of Military Glory to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the Alley of Heroes was opened, which is an alley along which 73 granite signs are installed in honor of Kamchatka residents - Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Socialist Labor, Heroes of Russia, Cavaliers of the Gold Star - all those who glorified the Motherland with their military and labor victories. In 2015, a monument "To participants in military operations and veterans of military service" appeared in Victory Park with an image of a Russian soldier in modern military equipment against the background of a flag and a memorial plate indicating the countries and regions in which Russian soldiers performed their military international duty. Victory Park annually hosts the main city events associated with the celebration of Victory Day on May 9, Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23, and memorial events on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow on June 22."

The History and Significance of Victory Park
Over time, the memorial expanded to include the Alley of Heroes, featuring 73 granite signs honoring individuals from Kamchatka who were recognized as Heroes of the Soviet Union, Socialist Labor, or Russia. A later addition, the monument to participants in military operations, pays tribute to those who served in various international and internal conflicts. Navigating the Memorial Complex
Visitors should note that while the ceremonial areas are well-maintained, the broader park grounds can be less pristine, a point raised by some locals. This means the immediate vicinity of the monuments is typically well-kept, offering a respectful environment for contemplation, while the outer edges might show signs of wear. Comfortable footwear is recommended for exploring the entire complex. :athletic_shoe:
