What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Red Bridge is a functional and vital crossing in Oryol, appreciated for its connection to city life and the Oka River views. While its rusty-red color and intricate structure are noted, some visitors express disappointment with its current condition and a perceived graying of its aesthetic, eagerly awaiting planned renovations.
"I tried the first bridge, the split one, on the way from the train station along Moskovskaya Street upon arrival in Orel. I went down to the Oka embankment to take a break and looked at the bridge from below. Intricate constructions of pipes, arches, crossing connections... the color is really rusty-red. It is fully exploited by all types of transport and pedestrians. Upstream you can see the Friendship Bridge, and on the left bank of the Oka you can see the beauty of the Epiphany Cathedral and the monument to Ivan the Terrible, by whose order this fortress was built. It looks solid!"

"One of the best bridges in the city. From it you can see the Oka River and the beautiful view of the city. (Of course, if you ignore the noise of cars, buses and trams passing by)"
Dayanch Abdullayev
"I didn't even know you could leave a review for a bridge. Well, then... 1. The bridge's condition is simply indescribable; you should just walk it, take a ride, or even take public transportation. 2. Some idiot painted it a disgusting gray. Why should all the bridges in the city be gray? There's nowhere to put that shitty paint, it's not like you're painting a house. 3. This bridge is cramped in today's reality, and you can only drive without traffic jams late in the evening or at night. 4. Its one advantage is that it's a bridge, albeit a run-down one, and it's still a bridge. And there's a feeling there's another route across the river somewhere that the administration knows about, because how can you explain its deplorable state and its relation to the main bridge? And yes, when you see this mouse-gray structure, that's the Red Bridge."
