What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Dostoevsky Literary Museum for its heartfelt curation and atmospheric setting, making it a deeply engaging experience for literature lovers. While some have noted issues with booking and staff interactions, many highlight the staff's welcoming nature and the museum's ability to connect visitors with the profound legacy of the great Russian writer.
"I visited this museum because since I was schoolgirl, I liked Dostoyevsky very much. The museum was well organized, had interesting things to show and a very nice and helpful staff. The only thing I an sorry is that I did not find a mention of that museum in any of the 3 different city maps I got in my hotel. I found this museum because of this Google map before mys visit. Dostoyevsky is a world-famous writer and the time he spend exiled in Omsk was literally fruitful after his liberation."

"A very atmospheric place, telling the story of Fyodor Dostoevsky's four years in exile. And much more. I recommend visiting with a guide, as some of the exhibits may be difficult for those unfamiliar with the great Russian writer's biography."

"I am simply shocked by the rude attitude! I hope that you are recording calls. I signed up for the excursion "Vsevolod Ivanov's Decade" and the exhibition "The Feat Continues". It is tentatively scheduled for February 21. The exhibition is just about to open and only excursions about Ivanov are planned from the 19th to the 28th. I was supposed to call and I would have done it after lunch today, February 20th. As a result, some angry lady calls me at 9:44 and starts literally attacking me, saying that I am the only one signed up (this is not my problem, by the way, you have the schedule according to which I signed up) and they cannot take me there. Although there is an option to join the excursion with the lyceum, on February 21st at 12 noon. To which I clarify the age of the participants. And then a new wave of negativity: "What difference does it make to you?" and most importantly with such obvious aggression! They are teenagers and noisy, I do not want to join a study group. "Then go for 1500 individually." I might go, what's the problem? State the prices normally and then don't make the schedule public. The fact that the group is not formed is your problem! Learn from your colleagues. "The Museum Complex of Omsk Glory" gave me a tour of Karbyshev alone, at the usual price of 300 rubles. Imagine, no one came except me. People don't go to museums anyway, and you're being rude. And this is a cultural institution, you should be ashamed. The Pushkin Library gave me a tour dedicated to February 23 and the feat of Omsk doctors, and it was also a team, but I came alone. And they did it for free! You are a literary museum that bears the name of a great writer, and this is how you treat a person who is interested in learning something new. Absolute disappointment. I would take photos, record a video, post it on my site and believe me, it works, someone else would definitely want to see and listen."
