What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Holy Trinity Convent for its profound peace, spiritual grace, and the beauty of its well-maintained grounds and Holy Trinity Cathedral. The relics of Saints Peter and Fevronia are a major draw, attracting many pilgrims seeking blessings for family and marriage. Some note that queues for the relics can be long, especially on weekends, and that cash is essential for purchases.
"...and here (especially on weekends) it's always crowded. Apparently, the prestige of the relics housed here, beloved by the people of St. Peter and St. Fevronia, attracts believers and non-believers, pilgrims, tourists, and the simply curious. And despite the Monastery's small size, it never feels overcrowded, and everyone has a place here. But there's always a line to the aforementioned relics, slowly moving into the Church, where, on a small platform (under the watchful eye of security), you can venerate them. We did too... And this feeling of prayerfulness in the Church was so captivating that, upon leaving the relics of St. Peter and St. Fevronia, I realized I'd only seen them, and I couldn't even remember the rest of the Church's interior...
It seemed there were far more women here than men: apparently, the attraction is the belief in the Saints' ability to resolve women's issues. In any case, it's quiet here, beautiful, very well-maintained, very warm. It's just that organized groups are allowed to visit the relics first, and there are quite a few of them. We, the self-organized pilgrims, are the last resort. It's the same everywhere, though. And why rush and fuss in the Monastery?"

"The Holy Trinity Convent in Murom is one of the brightest and most peaceful places where you feel peace and grace.
The territory is well-groomed, everything is clean and tidy: beautiful flower beds, snow-white walls of temples and shining domes.
What I especially liked:
✔ Cathedral of the Life-Giving Trinity - incredibly beautiful inside, you can feel a special prayerful atmosphere.
✔ The relics of Peter and Fevronia - pilgrims from all over the country come to them, especially those who pray for family well-being.
✔ rapeznaya - simple, lean food. Payment is cash only, so it's best to prepare in advance. Lunch in the photo 280 rub.
✔ Cafe with coffee and pastries - you can have a snack, buy monastery bread, gingerbread or jam.
Come in good weather to enjoy the beauty of this holy place.
An excellent option for both pilgrims and tourists - I recommend it to everyone! 🙏"

"The Holy Trinity Monastery was founded on the site of a wooden church that had stood here before in 1643, and was closed in 1921. The monastery's revival began in 1991.
The main shrine of the temple is the tomb with the relics of Saints Peter and Fevronia, patrons of love and marriage. The tomb is installed in the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The cathedral is painted inside and somewhat resembles the Resurrection Cathedral in Tutayev. Outside, these are snow-white, beautiful walls in very good condition, with beautiful built-in mosaic elements. This is the only temple that is open to visitors, all other churches are closed. Candles are purchased separately in the church shop behind the Cathedral. Cards are not accepted, only cash or bank transfer.
The Sergius Church, moved from the village of Pyangus in Melenkovsky County, where it was built in 1715, is of interest. It was moved to the territory of the Trinity Monastery in 1913.
If you come early, the monastery territory will be very quiet and comfortable. There is a refectory, the entrance is from Krasnoarmeyskaya Street."
