"The Trinity Cathedral, towering in the center of the Old Town of the Kostroma Ipatiev Monastery, was built in 1650-1652 on the site of an older (mid-6th century) cathedral of the same name, destroyed by a hurricane in 1649. Undoubtedly, the Trinity Cathedral represents the pinnacle of Russian monumental spiritual painting of the 17th century. The third stage in the creation (completion) of the decoration of the cathedral - 1911-1913. Completion of the painting of the church galleries by the team of Palekh icon painters headed by N.
