"The Novo-Golutvin Convent was founded in the 19th century, but the main church, the fabulous Trinity Cathedral, is much older than the monastery itself and was built back in 1705 on the territory of what was then the bishop's house. The Pokrovskaya Church, elegantly blue in color, with elements of the Gothic style, was built in 1823, and the gate bell tower was built in 1825, have also survived. Be sure to visit, you will rarely see such an interesting combination of different architectural styles. There is extraordinary beauty and peace here."

From 1350 to 1799, the monastery was home to the bishop's residence, where the bishops and archbishops who governed the Kolomna diocese lived.
The youngest of the Kremlin monasteries, Novo-Golutvin, dates back to 1799. However, many of its buildings are much older, since it was founded on the site of the bishop's house, mentioned in the census books of 1577-1578.
Currently, the monastery buildings include 3 churches:
the historic Trinity Cathedral and the Church of the Intercession and the newly built Church of Xenia of Petersburg.
