What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are deeply impressed by the historical significance of Tsiolkovsky's home, marveling at how such groundbreaking space exploration ideas originated from this humble dwelling. The authenticity of the preserved living space and workshop is a major draw, offering a unique connection to the 'father of astronautics.' However, the limited English translations and the somewhat challenging access are noted drawbacks.
"It's unbelievable that in a house like this, far from everything, Tsiolkovsky was doing the science that made possible to put a man in orbit. The way he lived and his workplace tell the story of a meticulous, focused in his work, cultivated and resourceful man.
The story of a door to space is priceless. I will come back!"

"Interesting museum which is the original house of one of the founding fathers of astronautics, just around the corner from the larger museum so it's worth a visit if you're in Kaluga for that already. It's a pain to get to from Moscow and our internet on roaming did not work super well. Would visit the nuclear museum in obninsk on the trip if we had known about it too!
Not much here was in English but it was very authentic! Not sure if they have English guides at all."

"Very nice homely old wooden house of the man whose brilliant mind ultimately made space travel possible."

The museum preserves his living quarters and workshop, allowing a tangible connection to his dedication and resourcefulness. It's a place that inspires awe and a deep appreciation for human ingenuity.
While the museum is rich in historical significance, be aware that most information is presented in Russian. This adds to the authentic feel for some, but might require extra effort for those unfamiliar with the language. Visiting Tsiolkovsky's House: Practicalities
