Reviews Summary

"Busse Lagoon
A bay in the Sea of Okhotsk, located in the Korsakov District of Sakhalin Island.
Besides its natural beauty, this place is rich in seafood: a variety of fish, oysters, sea urchins, scallops, and much more.
The lagoon is also home to larger animals, such as sockeye salmon, which periodically poke their heads out of the water, accompanied by a disgruntled grunt. Unfortunately, this happens quickly and quite far away, so I can't provide any photos.
A separate must-see on Sakhalin Island is the tasting of freshly shucked oysters, which requires active participation.
Upon arrival at the base in the bay, everyone is given a life jacket and waders. Next, a catamaran takes you to the oyster bed. Here, the water is approximately knee-deep, and you can begin the process of searching for and collecting oysters and sea urchins. Right there, a table is set up, and the organizing team opens freshly caught oysters, offering them for tasting.
I'd never tried oysters before and wasn't sure I could. My biggest fear was that they might move ))), but that fear proved unfounded. I specifically asked for smaller oysters and ended up eating four. It's safe to say that they weren't at all unpleasant and were delicious!
And by the way, I'll dispel the oyster-eating stereotype, which for some reason is portrayed in various films and the like, that oysters should be swallowed whole. This isn't true. They must be chewed; otherwise, it's impossible to fully appreciate their flavor.
After the "hunt," everyone returns to the shore, where a hot lunch of fresh seafood awaits. In addition to baked oysters, the menu includes fish soup, caviar, and fish baked in burdock leaves. Everything is sooo delicious!"

"What a great place! The oysters are amazing! Thanks to Dmitry for a wonderful day and a warm welcome! The scenery is stunning. The hosts are even better! The water is warm. You can dream about something a thousand times. But once you try it, you'll fall in love with it! How little a person needs to be happy)))"

"A very rich lake! What doesn't live in it! We spent the night recently, mosquitoes and midges - billions! I'm still itching 😞 the water was warm, but it was unrealistic to swim, the entire shore was covered in layers of cabbage, and the low tide was strong. But the shore is clean and in general we liked everything!"
