What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bolshoy Utrish Beach offers stunningly clear waters ideal for snorkeling, but visitor experiences are significantly marred by issues of privatization, poor infrastructure, and a lack of cleanliness. While the natural beauty of the sea is a draw, expect challenges with parking, disorganized facilities, and a generally unkempt environment.
"The whole of Bolshoy Utrish began to resemble some kind of private establishment. They blocked off everything they could. They put up slabs and barrels with stones so that they couldn't park their cars anywhere. The only parking lot left was next to the dolphinarium. But even that looked like it had been bombed. But it wouldn't even occur to anyone to clean up the beach or the lighthouse. The dirt was terrible. The buildings had broken glass. We went there several times to walk around the reserve. But in 2021 it was closed to visitors. And without an alternative. Although there should be tourist trails. In general, another nightmare that can be found on our Black Sea coast. "Everything is MINE, but I don't want to keep track of it" is the motto of the locals. Maybe the local administration will bring order here? Maybe taxpayers' money should be spent on improving public places, and not their own dachas?"

"Apart from the sea, there are no advantages. Dirt, disorganization. The changing rooms are terrible, no hooks or trash cans. The main thing is to put up sun loungers and make money."

"A clean, beautiful beach for relaxation, but the downsides are that it's crowded and noisy."
