"Extraordinary place and great people... The ortodhox priests even offered a hot meal to pilgrims... The monastery is Dobrogea s most hidden gem 💎."

"An unique monastery in Romania.

The monastery is in a very quiet place, surrounded by vineyards and fruit trees. As you arrive there is a parking place just in front of the entrance. Avoid going to the monastery on holidays or when there are important orthodox celebrations because it is almost an adventure to visit the monastery.

For visiting, as a period of day, if you want to find silence and you want to meditate, I recommend you the afternoon hours because during morning hours, usually, the monastery is visited by pilgrims coming with buses. And where there are groups of persons, there is no way to be silence.

The interior of the church is something unique because the walls are covered with small pebbles of marble covered in gold. Also the scenes depicted on the walls are painted on that small piece of marble. It is fascinating as a whole and as a details.

In the church, in the place of honor there are the relics of 4 saints. Their relics are displayed in 4 scrapes. There is also a small box with the top side from glass where there are relics of 40 saints.

At the exit from the monastery on the right side there is a souvenirs shop where you can buy wine and honey produced by the monks. The wine is in bottles of 2 liters, no special brand and is from mixed grapes and it is not for pretention drinkers.

Do not forget to admire the gate from the entrance in monastery wich is a very beautiful piece of work of art, made from sculpted wood."
