What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are consistently impressed by the stunning interior frescoes, describing them as breathtaking. While exterior renovations can sometimes obscure the facade, the spiritual atmosphere and the warmth of the nuns in the gift shop are frequently highlighted as memorable aspects of the visit. Some note that it's not as well-preserved as other monasteries in the region and that fees for parking and entry are required.
"Unfortunately, most of the exterior discovered by scaffolding (Sept2025) still impressive, and obviously necessary, was unable to find notification of the repairs until I drove there"
Tim Taravella
"We visited on a rainy Monday afternoon in March. Only a few people here, mainly outdoor maintenance crews. We found a sign mentioning to pay entrance fee inside the church shop, but the woman there sort of hid from us and would not communicate, possibly a nun required to not socialize (not sure). So we did not pay as there was no donation box or price listed. The inside of the church is stunning, paintings on every surface, but no photos allowed so we respected that. It seemed that most of the grounds were off limits at the time we visited. A good visit nonetheless."
GT Hodge
"The paintings are less preserved but it is very nicely arranged .
PS: there is also a tower where you can climb (it’s a little hard when u go come back) and have a nice view.😎"
