Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently impressed by the awe-inspiring architecture of Dragomirna Monastery, particularly its unique tall and narrow church. The serene and spiritual atmosphere is frequently praised, making it a worthwhile historical landmark. However, some visitors have encountered issues with late-day access and the modern appearance of renovations.

"This monastery took 3 decades to build in the 17th century. It’s the tallest medieval monastery in northern Moldavia and its height is clearly visible inside the monastery.

There’s a long walk up to the monastery entrance and on one side you will see an apple orchard. In their shop, they sell some natural products.

It’s stunning inside and is worth a visit!"

Melanie E

"Very nice, calm and sensitively repared place. Still used by nuns, so please be quiet a DON’T sit on the benches and wooden chairs in the church! Your legs won’t fall off during the visit and it’s incredibly disrespectful!"

Tereza Kempfová

"The Church closes at 19.00, the front gates were open but, no one in duty at the kiosk to serve us as it was raining and cold, with no other visitors. The Church and monastery in general was very modern in appearance no traditional painting on the exterior of the church. It seems a modern renovation, very attractive and functional for the residents. A Nun appeared as we were leaving and ashes if we wanted to pay for her prayers, I said I was quite happy to pray for myself free if charge. Didn't manage to see inside the church as the place looked closed and it was cold wet day."
