Reviews Summary

Las Paylas offers a unique natural water slide experience with refreshing pools and scenic surroundings. Visitors enjoy the thrill of the slides and the beauty of the river, though some find it can get very crowded, especially on weekends, and caution is advised on the slides due to rocks. The lack of facilities and the sometimes chaotic atmosphere on busy days are noted drawbacks.

"This slice of heaven in the back yard of the citizens of Puerto Rico is kept clean and pristine. Its slide at yoir own risk, but the risks are minimum. Its so much fun to slide in mountain waters into a pool of fresh cool refreshing waters that are grounding and cleansing. There's a 30 foot slide & a 100ft slide. I didn't dare go down the 100 ft slide but it was fun watching thr locals slide down on their feet!"

"WE DROVE WITH NO GUIDES

Today we visited Las Pailas Waterfall. The entrance is right off the side of the road, and it felt crowded as soon as we arrived. We paid $10 for parking and $1 per person to access the waterfall.

The trail starts with a short concrete path, then you walk along the river for a few more minutes until you reach the first waterfall. There’s a second one just below. The waterfalls are beautiful, and the natural water slides are really fun!

But honestly, the place was very crowded. There were a lot of tour groups, loud music, and people everywhere. It was not only a Sunday but also Father’s Day and a holiday weekend—so that probably made it even busier. Because of the noise and the crowd, it was hard to enjoy the peaceful side of nature.

One more thing: the place doesn’t have much structure. There are no bathrooms, and no one really welcomes you or gives any kind of orientation. It’s just a house by the road with someone charging at the entrance. For the number of people going there, it definitely feels unprepared.

Our tip: Avoid weekends and holidays. Try to go early and during the week for a more relaxed experience."

"We had a great time here! Lots of tour groups coming in and out so if you go on your own you kind of feel like you need to get out of their way/get your slide down in between groups. We were a bit scared of the parking situation but it turned out fine - they do ask you to park on a literal cliff though so be aware of that. Including some pictures of the place to park/area because that was what threw us off the most and hopefully we can help others find it. Quick but steep walk down, good shoes are a must if you plan to scramble the rocks to slide down."
