"Morning like you would like to have every day. I arrived almost right after sunrise and the goal was to reach the lake and do a healthy trek in a few hours. Fog, clouds, bird calls, and no one around. Absolutely fantastic time and place. The landscape at the bottom of the lake changed almost every few seconds with the play of sunlight and clouds. I felt like the only one on the planet and went down to the lake itself. From this observation point there is a path leading to the lake. Every minute of the hike is simply worth the time you spend here! A few steps higher and your eyes will see the northern coast of the island and these are already another pictures like from a fairy tale or a good adventure game. It is simply divine."

"Incredible views! We went there early morning, the road gets blocked for tourists between 9am-7pm, so we drove up around 7am. Very chilly and windy, although we had wind/waterproof layers on. It was foggy and cloudy and you need to wait around a while for the fog to lift up, which then comes back over the lake very quickly. We didn't manage to get a completely clear view behind the lake but the fog over the lake lifted up at times and were able to see it. Really beautiful and mystical, probably even more with the fog. We used the windy app and spot azores cameras to check the weather every day we were on the island, and most days it was cloudy, given it's higher altitude."
